as posted by the channel

The U.S. Army has named the two Iowa National Guard members killed in a weekend attack in Syria. Sgt. Edgar Brian Torres-Tovar, 25, of Des Moines, and Sgt. William Nathaniel Howard, 29, of Marshalltown were identified as the victims. Officials said a U.S. civilian working as an interpreter was also killed. Three other Guard members were wounded in the attack.

Chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell wrote on X that the attack "occurred as the soldiers were conducting a key leader engagement. Their mission was in support of ongoing counter-ISIS/counter-terrorism operations in the region."
