Bonta said during a press conference detailing the operation on Thursday that the investigation culminated with search and arrest warrants executed at 12 locations across Southern California. Known as "Operation Skip Trace," law enforcement reportedly seized $757,000 in cash and two firearms during the raids.
"Over the life of this fraud scheme, not a single legitimate hospice service was ever provided, yet millions were billed in a brazen, calculated scheme that exploited the Medi-Cal system," Attorney General Bonta said.
