Artemis II crew flew around the moon on Monday, April 6, traveling farther than Apollo 13. They became the first humans to see the far side of the moon and managed to travel farther into space from Earth than any human before them. LiveNOW's Anna Marsick is interviewing retired NASA astronaut Clayton Anderson, who has logged over 166 days in space, about what life looks like from way up in the stars.
In a statement posted on social media, NASA said, “The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.”
