as posted by the channelCanvas, the online learning platform used by thousands of schools and universities, is back online after a cyberattack disrupted access.
Cybersecurity analysts say the hacking group ShinyHunters claimed responsibility, alleging that nearly 9,000 schools were affected and that large amounts of student data and messages were accessed.
The data breach appeared to involve student ID numbers, email addresses, names and messages on the Canvas platform, Instructure’s chief information security officer said.
