The announcement by Hazrat Khatam al-Anbiya, Iran’s joint military command, came as fighting between Israel and Hezbollah reignited in Lebanon on Saturday, just hours after the two sides had agreed to a renewed ceasefire. Iranian leaders said the decision to close the strait was prompted by what they described as the United States’ failure to halt the fighting in Lebanon.
