According to The Associated Press, the former Salt Lake County mayor and U.S. Congressman, received 60.2% of the vote with 82% of the votes counted so far. This comes after Utah adopted a new map that keeps most of heavily Democratic Salt Lake County within a single district. It now gives Democrats in the state the first chance at a U.S. House seat since 2021.
