The pilot of the plane was killed, and the two troopers onboard the helicopter survived the crash.
Investigators are working to determine what may have caused the plane to suddenly change direction and strike the helicopter.

A Cessna 150 airplane and a Bell 407 helicopter collided in midair near Carlisle, Pennsylvania, around 7:50 p.m. local time on Wednesday, Aug. 19, according to the FAA.
Two people were on board the helicopter. The number of people on board the Cessna is unknown. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate. The NTSB will lead the investigation and provide all updates.
