Five people are dead, and at least 5 are injured after an Amazon Prime Air cargo plane overran the runway and crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon, officials said. The plane arrived from San Juan, Puerto Rico around 2:00pm ET when it burst past the runway boundaries, plowed into a public rowed and struck multiple vehicles. The impact of the crash sparked a fire with heavy smoke, drawing a response from more than 60 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units. Federal officials also instituted a full ground stop, shutting down all runways and taxiways at the airports. Hundreds of flights have now been delayed or cancelled during the busy Labor Day holiday weekend.
The Foundation for Aviation Safety's Randy Klatt joins LiveNOW's Andy Mac after the press conference to discuss what may have caused the crash and where the investigation goes from here.
