My college boyfriend and I broke up almost three years ago because long distance became too hard emotionally. We kept hooking up afterward— but he ultimately wanted to get back together, and I didn't because I knew I couldn’t do long distance again. We’ve had no contact since, and while I know it was the right decision, I still feel sad about it.
The real problem is all of my memories with him are the happiest I have ever felt. I use them to get through hard days but at the same time they fill me up with such grief. I am in a time of my life where I want to be single but I miss being loved (and so I miss his love) a lot. Wondering if you’ve been in a similar boat and have advice on how to keep my camera on me and not what I had and cherished before?
