3:42Now PlayingToday, May 14 Fire service day, LAFD unveiled their brand new fully electric fire engine. The fire engine was driven from fire station 27 in Hollywood to fire station 82 also in Hollywood by new fire chief Kristen Crowley. This fire engine can pump water for two hours without using the onboard generator. During an emergency, there is an onboard diesel generator that turns on at 20% power, which is rarely used according to a spokes person from Rosen Bauer. All engineers in a battalion will need to be trained and certified before the rig can go into operation. This will be sometime in July. this brand new electric fire engine will be going to fire station 82, Making it E82.
