2:26Now PlayingA CHP officer pulled a white Ford Fusion over in north Hollywood. The crazed man spontaneously shot the CHP officer. He took off but CHP got his license. His license originally came back to a shopping center in West Hills, but unfortunately that was only his PO Box. All police officers in all departments in the San Fernando Valley were looking for this guy and within 30 minutes spotted his vehicle. At the 7400 block of Haskell. LAPD made contact with a roommate and confirmed that he stopped by there. They also found a blood trail. The suspect was calling family and also was indicating he was there and had “done something awful.” After hours the LAPD SWAT team shot countless teargas canisters into the unit to find there was no person in there. He was also believed to be alive because he called his cousin who is Law enforcement in another area And said “there’s nothing you can do for me” and hung up. Officers immediately pinged his phone nearby. Unfortunately they were unable to find him. Add around 9 o’clock in the morning today police found him nearby hiding and took him into custody. He is believed to be former military and was having a “mental health crisis.” Fortunately the CHP officer who was shot is doing okay.
