This is likely the leading reason consumers do not trust technicians. When the same problem costs more money to fix based on the circumstances around a problem. When the same problem costs more to fix because the customer is perceived as more gullible, or willing to pay more.
No one likes to feel taken advantage of - as consumers, this is accepted common sense. Many technicians like to get a little more money for their hard work if they can out of a customer, especially if overhead is high. Where do you draw the line? What is the right thing to do?
