Too many people see the word "backup", click, and think their work is done. here I will provide a real world example with a stable, quality enterprise class system where just hitting the backup button will leave you in for a world of hurt if you assume that your job as an IT professional is to hit the backup button and think the job is done.
The job is done when you fully understand the backup system. This means you set up a system you break that system, then you try to restore your backup. Inbetween breaking the system and restoring the backup, there is a world of hurt involved, if you have never tried to restore it before. You may think it is a turnkey solution when often IT IS NOT A TURNKEY SOLUTION! It is ONLY a turnkey solution if YOU know what you are doing because you have restored the system before, and understand all of its quirks.
