A treasured Rhode Island traffic judge, renowned for his distinctive and compassionate presence in the courtroom, has requested prayers after disclosing his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Judge Frank Caprio, aged 87 and widely known as the star of the reality TV show "Caught in Providence," shared that he began feeling unwell around his birthday in November, prompting him to undergo a medical examination.
In a video released earlier this week, Caprio conveyed the sobering news, stating, "The report was not a favorable one. I have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which is an insidious form of cancer."
Despite the challenging circumstances, Caprio reassured well-wishers that he was managing, thanks to the ongoing medical treatment he was receiving, and expressed hope that prayers and medical interventions would contribute to his recovery.
"I'm under the care of an exceptional team of doctors, both here in Rhode Island and at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts," remarked the Chief Judge Emeritus. "I pray that God guides their thoughts and their hands in their treatment of me."
