My guest today is Christopher Caldwell, senior fellow at the Claremont Institute, contributing editor to the Claremont Review of Books, and author of 'Reflections on the Revolution in Europe: Immigration, Islam and the West' and 'The Age of Entitlement: America Since the Sixties.'
We spoke about the recent European elections, particularly the success of the National Rally in France, and whether or not the upper middle classes in Europe and America are turning against mass immigration, many decades after the white working class did.
In the extended part of the episode we spoke about young European people turning to the Right, the decreasing importance of World War Two in the cultural imaginary, and why the success of the American melting pot has lulled Europeans into a false sense of security.
