In St. Peter, Minnesota, dashcam video circulated online showing a U.S. citizen being aggressively stopped and detained by federal immigration agents. According to local news reports, several vehicles chased the woman as she was recording federal agents’ movements, then boxed her in and ordered her to exit the car with guns drawn. When she repeatedly refused, the agents forced her out, pinned her to the ground, and handcuffed her. The woman was later placed into a federal vehicle and driven toward a detention facility, but was ultimately returned to local police custody and taken home after intervention by the St. Peter Police Chief.
The video and accounts highlight concerns about the tactics ICE and other federal agencies are using, including chasing and detaining a citizen without clear identification or explanation of authority. Critics have drawn parallels to past ICE practices involving unmarked vehicles and aggressive stops.
