Black Guns Matter was founded in 2016 as a response to rising violence, cultural narratives around victimhood, and the need for real-world firearm education in urban America.

In this video, I break down the origins of Black Guns Matter, why we began traveling city to city teaching responsible gun ownership, and how that work eventually became part of a historic Supreme Court decision that impacted Second Amendment rights across the United States.

But this story is not just about firearms or politics.

It’s about what happens when you challenge dominant narratives around victimhood, empowerment, and personal responsibility.

When I began teaching Black Americans how to be safe, trained, and responsible gun owners in major cities, the response was immediate pushback, criticism, and disbelief, even from people within the same communities I was trying to serve.

This video explores how systems respond differently to victim-centered narratives versus empowerment-based solutions, and why capability, self-defense education, and personal responsibility often face resistance in modern society.

We also break down the cultural impact of slogans, messaging, and psychological conditioning, and how they influence behavior, perception, and decision-making over time.
