There has been a long history of solidarity between Palestinians and Black Americans. More recently, Palestinians tweeted advice to protestors on how to deal with tear gas from police during 2014 demonstrations over Michael Brown’s shooting in Ferguson, Missouri. In 2020, Palestinians were painting murals of George Floyd after his murder in Minneapolis, Minnesota led to massive global protests. Likewise, Black Americans have long advocated for a Free Palestine, and have implored the country to view Israel's occupation of Palestine through the lens of racial justice.
