as posted by the channelWhile diversity, equity, and inclusion programs are being ended in schools across the country, Washington joins six other states in signing legislation requiring LGBTQ curricula in schools. SB5462 mandates that public schools teach about the contributions of underrepresented communities, but unlike previous bills, it specifically includes the LGBTQ community. The change looks to create productive and safe learning environments that don’t leave out the history of marginalized communities.
