16:45Now PlayingThe University of Southern California announced that they will not allow valedictorian Asna Tabassum to speak at her May 10, 2024 graduation due to her support for Palestine. This comes after the school received complaints over Tabassum having a link to a pro-Palestine website in her Instagram bio.
In an email on Monday to the university staff and students, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs Andrew T. Guzmanon said Tabassum would not be delivering a traditional valedictorian speech due to "safety concerns".
