6:39Now PlayingThe European Union has taken a significant step as Spain, Ireland, and Norway formally announce their recognition of Palestinian statehood, increasing the number of countries recognizing Palestine to at least 146. Slovenia is expected to follow suit in the coming weeks. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez calls this move a step towards peace in Gaza.
However, Israel has expressed strong opposition, accusing these countries of "rewarding terrorism." Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has gone further, claiming Sanchez is "complicit in inciting genocide" against Jews.
