Despite having an individualized education plan (IEP) designed to manage such situations, the school's staff called in a school resource officer who, along with other officers, restrained the child and took him to a hospital where he was held in an adult unit. This case has raised serious concerns about the treatment and over-policing of Black children in schools, highlighting systemic issues and the urgent need for reform.
Marc Lamont Hill sits down with educator and author Dr. Bettina L.
