Khalil, a green card holder, was protesting Israel’s war on Gaza when he was detained. Authorities claimed his visa had expired—not true. They said he was unlawfully in the country—also not true. Now, the White House is pushing for his deportation, citing vague accusations of “terrorist ties.”
But here’s where it gets even more chilling: Just days before his arrest, Dean Yahi Milo, whose past includes spying on Arabs for the Israeli military, was pushing a false narrative that Columbia was overrun with anti-Semitism—when in reality, students were simply criticizing Israel and calling for Palestinian freedom.
Then, after Khalil was detained, instead of defending free speech, she doubled down, inviting a former Israeli Prime Minister to campus while students protesting the event were targeted and labeled harassers.
