True to the show's arts and activism slant, April and NSangou discuss Black theater as one of the culture's most important havens. From the 1800s to the 2000s, our theater productions, arguably, have portrayed the best of us and the worst of us. Either way, this art form has helped to define and mold our existence and relevance in this world and beyond. The two also discuss this age-old question: "Why do we always put 'Black' in front of everything?" NSangou drives home the distinction between the two schools of thought. NSangou will also discuss his upcoming Off-Broadway production, "A Freeky Introduction," and why this one-man play is probably not what you think it is.
Fun Fact: The guest's name is pronounced "Saan-GOO JEE-caum" and was given to him by elders from the Tikar people of Cameroon, a central African country.
