Through a shady data broker called ARC (Airlines Reporting Corporation), which they co-own, these airlines gave Customs and Border Protection (CBP) access to passenger names, full itineraries, even credit card information. And it gets worse: ARC told CBP to keep their identity secret, unless forced by a judge.
That means millions of innocent Americans are being tracked without a warrant, all under the false flag of “national security.” This practice started after 9/11, but now it’s being used to surveil anyone traveling inside the U.S., no matter the reason.
Senator Ron Wyden is pressing for answers, and privacy advocates want the data broker loophole closed for good. But until the public demands accountability, this deal stays in place until 2029.
This isn’t just about air travel. It’s about how corporations and the government are turning surveillance into big business, behind your back.
