Medical professionals and healers alike believe that fibroids should be considered a public health issue, given the magnitude of the problem. Some say little is known about the matter, but in this conversation on ASCENDING with APRIL R. SILVER, host, DR. DANETT BEAN sheds light on this critical issue, which doesn't get talked about enough. In fact, she affirms that there's a great deal of knowledge about this subject, depending upon one's lens!
Returning to ASCENDING from her April 2025 appearance, Dr. Danett goes deeper into the health disparities that Black women experience. As a Women's Health Specialist and a Doctor of Acupuncture and Eastern Medicine, she specializes in supporting and healing women with fibroids. Dr. Danett has been in practice for more than 20 years and claims that although uterine fibroids are benign tumors (and can cause a host of problems), the ancient wisdom of Eastern Medicine has helped women for thousands of years address this ailment.
