YouTube Description
as posted by the channelOperation Snowman was a mysterious German bridgehead operation over the Meuse River in the Netherlands at the junction with the British and Canadian armies joined, launched the same day, 1 January 1945, as Operation Nordwind in Alsace-Lorraine. According to German propaganda reports, Snowman was a support operation, like Nordwind, for the stalled German Ardennes Offensive. Working from German and British records and Dutch local histories, what can we make of Operation Snowman? Was it intended to have been used to launch a bigger German attack into the Netherlands? Join me, as I examine the possibilities and how the bridgehead was eliminated.
