as posted by the channelWhen I started Dream Shine I knew that having a great heart wasn’t enough... A good heart doesn’t win battles or pay bills. I decided that I was going to have both a good heart but also be a good leader and today I am grateful that I followed through on that commitment as we have now served thousands of individuals with developmental disabilities.
In order to succeed you must be willing to do the dirty work! When the Ohio government was trying to stop me from building my company I had to put in thousands of hours to pretty much become a self-taught lawyer so that I could understand how the state of Ohio operated in their jurisdictions... Long story short I WON! Not because I was lucky... But because I DID THE WORK. Outwork those trying to stop you, even if it’s just your own self-doubt!
16 years ago when I said I wanted to create a place for individuals with developmental disabilities that would be like a resort — with a Pirate Ship Building, they laughed in my face.
