This video shows what it’s actually like to run a door-mounted minigun from the open side of a helicopter. The recoil, the sound, the handling, and the perspective you only get when you’re in the door with nothing but air beneath you. The M134D is a 7.62 NATO rotary machine gun capable of extremely high rates of fire up to 6000 rounds a minute and sustained engagements. Mounted on helicopters, it provides close-in firepower and suppression while the aircraft is moving, hovering, or maneuvering.
