Santa Claus is real, and yes he lives in the North Pole…and he’s running for Congress
His legal name actually is Santa Claus and he lives in North Pole, Alaska.
He legally changed his name back in 2005. For the past seven years, he has served on the North Pole City Council.
Long ago, the soft-spoken Claus used to be the former special assistant deputy police commissioner for New York City and has been a longtime Christian monk.
He is running for the lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Alaska, which recently became vacant after the passing of Congressman Don Young
He has a very similar platform to Bernie Sanders, calling for policies like Medicare for All and student loan forgiveness.
But Santa Claus isn’t the only big name running for that vacant Congressional seat. Sarah Palin is also running for it. I can honestly say that Sarah Palin versus Santa Claus for Congress was not something I saw coming.
