I’m Mr. Beat, the dude who has made a video about every presidential election in American history. One possibility that should terrify ALL AMERICANS is the possibility of the Electoral College being tied.

Yep. Since the total number of electoral votes is an even number (538), there is an ever so slight possibility that the two major party candidates both get 269 electoral votes.

So what happens if the Electoral College is tied? Do we just have a new election? Yes. Yes we do.

In the U.S. House of Representatives. All INCOMING representatives in the House vote to break the tie. HOWEVER, that’s all within their state. Each state only gets ONE VOTE.

So what about the Vice President?

Well the Senate gets to pick that. Each INCOMING senator gets a vote. The way Congress is set up right now, we’d likely have a President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. Woahness.

But keep in mind that it could still be tied in both the House and Senate. If that happens I suggest we just make Charles Barkley president.
