Robert Edwards (aka "Batman") is a former-professional bank and armored truck robber. Born in Tampa Bay, Florida, Rob began his career out of necessity, however, it quickly blossomed into a vocation which he excelled at.
Over the course of his tenure, Rob committed multiple burglaries and home-invasions. These infractions, evolved into multiple armored-truck heists and nearly a dozen bank robberies. Known as "Batman," Rob managed to evade capture through meticulous planning, decoy vehicles, and clever escape routes.
The brazen "Batman bank robber" was sought by local law enforcement and meticulously hunted by the FBI for nearly a decade. In December of 1997, Rob was arrested for one of the armored-truck heists as well as a variety of bank robberies and home-invasions. He was sentenced to both state and federal prison. Rob was incarcerated for over a decade.
This is his story.
