as posted by the channelOur thoughts and prayers go out to Demar Hamlin, his family, and his teammates as we wish him a speedy recovery. With all the confusion and conflicting theories buzzing through the internet surrounding this unfortunate incident, I saw that it was important to take some time to help bring clarity to people as to what cardiac arrest actually is and how the different reasons and ways it could occur in a young, healthy, athlete playing football in a way that people of all levels of medical knowledge can understand. As an experienced critical care & 9-1-1 paramedic, as well as a current medical student training to be an ER physician, I will break down in this video the most likely reasons a cardiac arrest arrest can occur in this setting as is did in the Bengals vs Bills game.
