Is Syria Heading for Democracy or Another Dictatorship?

Since the collapse of the Assad regime, Ahmed Al-Sharaa took power in Syria. Yet, the new administration has been accused of committing massacres against religious minorities and other acts of aggression.

Mehdi sat down with Qutaiba Idlbi, Director for the Americas at the Syrian Foreign Ministry, to discuss the future of democracy in Syria, relations with Israel and Russia, as well as the new administration’s plan to rebuild Syria. He also pressed Idlbi on whether there will be accountability for Syrians who were harmed under al-Sharaa.
