In this ‘Mehdi Unfiltered’ interview, Mehdi Hasan sits down with Congresswoman Sara Jacobs as they discuss the third anniversary of Sudan’s genocide, the destruction of Palestine and the US’ role in both wars.
Jacobs has pushed for an end to the war in Sudan, noting her effort to reintroduce a bill to prohibit arms sales to the UAE, who is believed to be the main backer of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) — one of the parties at war.
As the youngest Jewish member of Congress, Rep. Jacobs is also calling out the Netanyahu government for its damage in Gaza to Palestinians and for Trump and other pro-Israel organizations for weaponizing antisemitism.
They also discuss why Democrats didn’t stop the Sudan war under Biden’s presidency, if the US should continue to send weapons to Israel and if Democrats can earn back voter trust after Gaza.
