I have been painting this particular piece for many years now, but this is the first time filming it for YouTube. This was a piece that I did on a total whim one day because I was inspired after hearing testimonies of those who had left religious cults. The story of freedom made me think of someone who was free from the chains of false religion, false gospel and a false Jesus and was now in true freedom in Christ. I LOVE painting with reds and greys. There's something very powerful about a limited palette to portray a message, and red has always been a very loud and leading color. "Freedom" is the name of this painting, and it was made to portray our freedom in Christ, and the release from spiritual bondage.
Sometimes we need to relax and remember who Jesus is and who we are in Christ.
Behind the Painting: This took about three hours to do, and is done in oils. The only colors I used were black, white and two different kinds of red. The canvas size is 24x36.
