The Roaring Twenties was a time of great social and political change. Cities now outnumber farms. America's wealth doubled between 1920 and 1929, ushering many into an affluent but foreign "consumer society." From coast to coast, people shared goods, music, dance moves, and even slang! Americans disliked this new urban, racy “mass culture,” and the 1920s brought more conflict than joy.
But one thing is for sure, the 1920s roared for a few young people in America's big cities.
