Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee vote down Republicans' request for a minority hearing day allowing them to call witnesses before voting on articles of impeachment.

REMINDER: None of the witnesses that the GOP members of the committee requested were called, and no fact witnesses were heard from in Judiciary's impeachment hearings.

U.S. Representative Mike Johnson represents Louisiana’s Fourth District, where he, his wife and their four children live in Bossier Parish. Congressman Johnson currently serves as the chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC), the largest caucus of conservatives in Congress. Since its founding in 1973, the RSC has served as the voice and "intellectual arsenal" of conservatism in the U.S. House of Representatives and as a leading influence in shaping the legislative agenda.

Congressman Johnson is a member of the House Judiciary Committee and was named ranking member of the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. He also serves on the House Natural Resources Committee overseeing American energy production, mineral issues, fisheries and several other key contributors to Louisiana’s economy.

Louisiana’s Fourth District largely includes the Northwest portion of Louisiana, including Shreveport, Bossier City, Natchitoches, Minden, De Ridder, Opelousas, Leesville, Eunice, Ville Platte, Mansfield and Benton.
