There are a good number of organizations combating veteran suicide in non-traditional ways, all of which work to varying degrees, thanks to an ordinary person committed to ending the scourge of veteran suicide. But none have come close to the success rate of Black Horse Forge, and the extraordinary man behind it—Steve Hotz. At least 22,000 veterans have come through Black Horse Forge—many as battered and broken as Steve once was. As of today, there have been zero suicides.
