If your theology has no room for the demonic — even in the context of sickness — it’s incomplete.

Luke 13 shows us a woman who had what one translation calls a disabling spirit, another calls it a spirit of infirmity. Her condition looked physical, but Jesus addressed the root — and it was spiritual.

That doesn’t mean every sickness is demonic. But we’ve swung so far in the other direction that many churches never even consider it.

The truth is: you might need discipline, or you might need deliverance. It might be physical, it might be spiritual, or it might be both.

This is what healthy theology looks like — a both/and, not either/or. Because the gospel isn’t just about treating symptoms, it’s about confronting the source.

What do you think — have we overcorrected to the point of ignoring spiritual causes altogether?
