The new law expands the definition of synthetic substances, grants greater authority to the Board of Pharmacy for declaring illicit drugs, and hikes the penalty for sale of the synthetic drugs to a felony. Persons convicted of the felony could face imprisonment of up to five years, a $10,000 fine, or both.
