30:06Now PlayingRecent news reports of abuse at senior care facilities, sexual harassment at the Capitol and ongoing struggles with the rollout of the Minnesota Licensing and Registration System (MNLARS) prompted Governor Mark Dayton to address the media on Wednesday, November 15.
This week, the Minneapolis Star Tribune began a five part report detailing hundreds of problems with abuse, neglect, assault and theft in nursing homes and assisted living facilities statewide. Governor Dayton said, "I want Minnesotans to be assured that their loved ones are being properly cared for and protected in those situations,”" and vowed to set up a task force to seek administrative or legislative remedies for the failings.
