Following treatment and a full recovery, the Governor encourages Minnesotans to speak with medical professionals about cancer risks and screening options and has proclaimed the week of December 2-9, 2017, as “Cancer Screen Week.” Two cancer survivors, including Senator Susan Kent, DFL-Woodbury, and several audience members shared their personal experiences of fighting cancer with the press in the Governor’s Reception Room on Monday, December 4.
Following the news conference, Governor Dayton fielded questions from the press on a range of topics including sexual harassment allegations against Senator Al Franken, the review of sexual harassment policies in the executive branch, the upcoming elections to fill the seats vacated by Rep. Tony Cornish, R-Vernon Center and Senator Dan Schoen, DFL-St. Paul Park, and the upcoming 2018 legislative session.
