Establishing a Unicameral Legislature in Minnesota

Lawmakers regularly propose constitutional amendments to tweak the fundamental principles that govern us. In fact, the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library notes that 213 constitutional amendments have been voted on by the electorate, and 120 of them have been adopted since statehood. Senator John Marty, DFL-Roseville, joins Capitol Report moderator Shannon Loehrke to talk about an amendment that he would like voters to consider – changing the legislature from a bicameral to a unicameral body.
