A bill instructing the Commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources to reduce the daily limit on walleye throughout all of Minnesota’s lakes passed the Senate State Government Committee Wednesday, March 3. Senator Carrie Ruud, R-Breezy Point, is the author of SF 12, which would set the possession limit at four walleyes and two saugers, of which only one can be over twenty inches.
“Now with the enormous pressure on the resource during the pandemic, it’s now time to be proactive on this,” Ruud said. The measure passed unanimously on a voice vote and was referred to the Senate floor.
