Senate Education Chairs Mary Kunesh (DFL-New Brighton), and Steve Cwodzinski (DFL-Eden Prairie), outlined a series of education priorities for the 2023 session. They addressed the media Tuesday, January 17, at a press conference held inside the Minnesota Senate Building.
Chief among their priorities is a bill, SF 8, that would provide one-time funding to boost funding for English learners, special education, nutrition and transportation. Another measure, SF 123, would fund free breakfast and lunches for all students. Among other proposals, SF 50 would offer free menstrual supplies for students in Minnesota Schools.
