Flanked by laborers, advocates and lawmakers, Governor Tim Walz signed into law House File 7, a bill that sets a goal of one hundred percent carbon-free electricity production by 2040. The bill signing ceremony was held Tuesday, February 7, at the St. Paul Labor Center. Bill sponsor Senator Nick Frentz (DFL-North Mankato), said that he hopes Minnesota’s updated clean energy standards will set an example for other states to follow.
