With a sense of urgency, Department of Commerce Commissioner Grace Arnold, Senator Nick Frentz, (DFL-North Mankato), Rep. Patty Acomb (DFL-Minnetonka), and advocates urged passage of a measure that would create a State Competitiveness Fund to aid organizations and communities in capturing federal dollars for clean energy projects. SF 1622 / HF1656 would allocate $115 million in grants to pursue Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding. The Capitol news conference was held Tuesday, March 7.
