The budget targets, created by the DFL Majority Leader and Chair of the Finance Committee, outline the budget each Senate Committee will have to work with for fiscal years 2025-27 and 2028-29. These targets reflect Senate leadership’s efforts to balance the budget and avoid a future deficit. The targets also signify a shift in the Senate itself, as now the work will move from policy discussions to budget bills.
