Meanwhile, a bipartisan group of lawmakers find the software several state agencies use to deliver critical services to Minnesotans in need is outdated, leading to errors, delays and burnout of agency staff. Senator Melissa Wiklund, DFL-Bloomington, wants to upgrade those systems. While the process will be expensive, estimated at millions of dollars, she says it will save money by increasing staff efficiency and by detecting fraud more quickly.
